Windrose: Upload World
This guide explains how to upload your local Windrose world to a DatHost dedicated server, as well as how to transfer worlds between servers.
In this guide
Upload a Local Save to a DatHost Server
Step 1: Locate Your Local World Save
Windrose stores local worlds in the following directory:
C:\Users\{UserName}\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles\{Profile}\RocksDB\{GameVersion}\Worlds\{WorldID}
Step 2: Upload the World to DatHost
- Open your server in the DatHost Control Panel
- Go to File Manager
- Navigate to:
R5/Saved/SaveProfiles/Default/RocksDB/{GameVersion}/Worlds/
- Upload your
{WorldID}folder here
After uploading, your structure should look like:
R5/Saved/SaveProfiles/Default/RocksDB/{GameVersion}/Worlds/{WorldID}
Step 3: Activate the World
- Go to the World Manager in your server panel
- Open the Stored Worlds tab
- Locate your uploaded world (it will match the
{WorldID}) - Click More
- Select Switch to Active
The active world must match the uploaded folder exactly.
Step 4: Start the Server
Start your server from the panel.
If everything is correct:
- The server loads your uploaded world
- Players can join using the server invite code
- Progress continues from your local save
Transfer a World Between Dedicated Servers
You can also move worlds between two DatHost servers or from another host.
Step 1: Download the World from the Source Server
- Stop the source server
- Go to File Manager
- Navigate to:
R5/Saved/SaveProfiles/Default/RocksDB/{GameVersion}/Worlds/
- Download the desired
{WorldID}folder
Step 2: Upload to the Target Server
- Stop the target server
- Upload the
{WorldID}folder to:
R5/Saved/SaveProfiles/Default/RocksDB/{GameVersion}/Worlds/
Step 3: Activate the World
- Open World Manager
- Go to Stored Worlds
- Find the uploaded world
- Click More → Switch to Active
Step 4: Start the Server
The transferred world will now load and be playable
Troubleshooting Tips
World does not appear in World Manager
- Ensure the folder is placed in the correct
Worldsdirectory - Confirm the folder name was not changed
Server starts a new world instead
- Verify your world is the one set as active in the World Manage
Version mismatch issues
- Make sure both client and server are running the same Windrose version
Additional Tips
- Always keep a backup before transferring worlds
- Large worlds may take time to upload/download
- Avoid modifying files inside the world folder unless necessary
