Valheim: How to use Thunderstore Mod Manager for Modding

Install Thunderstore Mod Manager

- Go to the Thunderstore Mod Manager download page: https://www.overwolf.com/app/Thunderstore-Thunderstore_Mod_Manager

- Click Download and follow the instructions to install it on your computer.

Search for Valheim and click Select game.

Tip: Click Set as default if you want to save the selection for the next time you open Thunderstore Mod Manager. - 4

Create a new profile or select the default one available.
Done. You are now ready to move on and install some mods!
Find and install mods
When you have launched Thunderstore Mod Manager and selected your profile you can start adding some mods.

Upon opening Thunderstore, select Servers and then the game you are managing for. On the profile selection tab, click on Select Profile.

Under the Get Mods tab, search around for some mods that you are interested in.
Tip: You can Sort the list by "Download count" to find the most popular mods

When you want to install a mod, expand the box and click Download. If a plugin requires dependencies, the next screen will prompt you to download those as well. Plugins installed without their dependencies will not run properly, or at all.
Done! When you want to launch the game with the installed mods, simply click Start modded in the top left corner.
Share profile with friends
Sharing your Thunderstore Mod Manager profile is a great way to get all your friends to use the same mods.
- Open Thunderstore Mod Manager and select My Mods.
- Next to your profile name, you will see a Share button.
- Your code will be automatically copied to your clipboard to share with your fellow Vikings.
To use this code your friends would simply launch Thunderstore Mod Manager, and when at the profile selection screen click the button Import / Update.
How to install Valheim mods with the Plugin Manager
Installing mods on your DatHost Valheim server only takes a few steps:
- Open your Valheim server in the DatHost Control Panel and go to Mods & Plugins.
- Under Framework, turn on BepInEx. Most Valheim mods require BepInEx to work.
- Under Install mods, select Mod Manager Profile Code
- Paste a profile code from Thunderstore. DatHost will download the mods in the profile along with their configuration files.
- Save and reboot your server to load the new plugins.
- Make sure everyone joining the server has any client-side mods and matching versions required by your modpack.
